What is the SC Authentication Service?

The SC Authentication Service is a single sign-on process that requires users to provide their credentials once, even if they're trying to access multiple sites or applications, such as Self Service Carolina.

How do I sign in?

The system supports the use of either NetID or VIP ID usernames. The VIP ID is an 8 digit number; a NetID is an alphanumeric identifier that begins with a letter. Enter the username and its corresponding password in the form on the left.

Currently enrolled students, faculty and staff can use either the NetID or VIP ID to sign in.

Applicants for admission or new students who have not been through orientation must use their VIP ID.

How long will I stay authenticated?

Until you close your browser or your session expires, whichever comes first. For your security, it's recommended that you close your browser when finished.
